can cripple enemies via thunder wave or staticĬhikorita: can cover rock and ground types that pika may struggle with before brick break or iron tail. learns good moves early (thunder wave, quick attack, thunderbolt) room-clearing move in discharge, making monster houses much less threatening this is a good choice if you don't want much of a challenge. their stats are naturally higher from being the only member of the starter cast to have already evolved, and they're part of the small pool of options that have two useful abilities. It's honestly a little disgusting how much better pikachu is than most of the other options. Thunderbolt, thunder wave, discharge, quick attack, brick break*, agility, focus punch*, dig* I'll be tackling about half of the available pokemon in this part so as not to further drown you in text. sorry if i put a pokemon you like low on the list, none of these guys are unplayable. these are subjective, but i do try to reason out my choices. whether youre an indecisive sort that doesn't know what partner to choose (like me), or you just want to choose the worst pokemon possible because torture is fun, i hope you get a little amusement out of this!ĭisclaimer: my opinion is not actually fact. So, with my 100% unbiased and completely correct judgement, i'm gonna rank the mystery dungeon Pokemon by their overall usefulness in battle. Mystery dungeon is a strange, chaotic world, where the speed stat doesn't exist, earthquake is usually terrible, and bubble is one of the most solid early-game moves. yeah, part of it's nostalgia, but the story is probably the best in a Pokemon game (for what that's worth), I like the gameplay, and it has great music and some amazing pixel art.Īnd since I love this game so much and was introduced to it at a very young age, I've fully played through it a lot.Īnd some teams i used were clearly better than others. and my favorite game of all time is Explorers of Sky.
